EWDA country rep Ireland:
I graduated from Dublin Vet School in 2013. I currently work as a small animal veterinary surgeon and am undertaking postgraduate study in conservation medicine at the University of Edinburgh. I have a lifelong interest in the natural world and have been lucky enough to pursue this interest while travelling over the years. I am especially interested in infectious diseases that are transmitted between wildlife and domestic animals in particular dogs and cats. In the present era of climate change and a rapidly increasing human population, wildlife disease research is a field that is going to be of increasing importance in the coming years and I hope to contribute to this field during my career. I am looking forward to becoming involved with the EWDA student chapter as the country representative for Ireland.
